Resource Links
This is a list of web-based resources you will find helpful
for your Community Music Circles.
1.
www.youtube.com - Type the song name in the search engine and a version will be found. This is great for researching new songs. The best part – It’s FREE!! For example, a MAMUMO participant wanted to play Tupelo Honey at our next gathering. I found a version on Youtube that enabled me to play the song.
2.
www.e-chords.com – This is a well organized site that continues to grow and add new features. I paid for a premium subscription ($19.99/year or $1.99/month) and it’s worth it. There is an extensive and easy to use library of songs with both lyrics and chords and a feature that allows you to easily change the key to suit your vocal range. I am 80% successful in finding the music I am looking for on this site.
3.
www.lyricsmode.com – Accessible, easy to use, and a good print feature for the lyrics. No chords however.
4.
www.amc-music.org/rmm/index.htm - There is very motivational information about recreational music making on this site. Your Community Music Circle is part of this wider movement. “Imagine a world where everyone makes music … where there's no pressure to perform, no rigid training schedule … just people playing for the pure enjoyment of it, and the health and social benefits that go with it.” Cool stuff.
5.
www.chordfind.com – With the click of the mouse you can find virtually any chord fingering and many variations. Easy to use.
6.
www.tabrobot.com – Type in the band or song you want and this music robot will search the internet and find it for you.
7.
www.chordie.com – Fun, well organized, categories like, “Everything Elvis”. Good source of chords and lyrics.
