How To Make Money With the Community Music Circle Program

Should You Charge Your Participants?

Whether or not you charge your participants is up to you and depends on your goals. If you want to play music, meet other musical folks, or enter a new community I suggest doing it for free.

If, however, you are looking for another way to make money with your musical talents, then start a circle and get paid!

Models of Making Money

There are two main models for making money. You can be paid by each participant or by an organization.

Paid By Participant
You can charge by a “program” or you can establish a per session fee. Using the program model you would charge $XX.XX for multiple sessions. For example, $69/person for 4 sessions. The sessions will meet each Thursday in February from 7-9pm.

Or, you can ask each participant for a $7 donation (or a $7 fee, or cover charge, or entrance fee) each time they participate in a Community Music Circle.

Paid By an Organization
You can contact any of the organizations listed in the forum entitled, Twelve Places to Host Your Community Music Circle. Often times they have a set rate for paying for a service like yours but you might need to negotiate.
